The Hygiena UltraSnap ATP Surface test is a small, easy to use and environmentally friendly ATP surface test, to be used in conjunction with an ATP Hygiene Monitoring system to verify the results of the cleaning process. The UltraSnap Surface test is one of the most popular ATP tests on the market.

The UltraSnap works hand-in-hand with Hygiena’s EnSURE Touch and SystemSURE Plus to provide superior repeatability linearity, sensitivity and accuracy over other ATP systems available.

What is the UltraSnap?

The UltraSnap Surface ATP swab is a user-friendly, self-contained test device to be used with Hygiena luminometers. Combined, the swab test and luminometer create a system used to monitor the cleaning levels on surfaces in a wide variety of industries.

Why is the UltraSnap surface test better than other ATP tests?

There are several innovative design features that enable UltraSnap™ to outperform its competition, some of these features include:

  • Superior Sample Collection- The pre-moistened swabs help to break down biofilms and improve sample collection.
  • Patented Snap-Valve Design- The patented Snap-Valve technology ensures your collected sample remains on the swab during activation. For competitor swabs, the sample surface must break through the foil to reach the chemistry, removing ATP from the collection surface.
  • Liquid-stable Chemistry- contains liquid-stable chemistry in the patented Snap-Valve bulb. This unique chemistry and design eliminate the need to reconstitute lyophilized pellets, enabling consistent and accurate results.
  • Easy as Swab, Snap, Squeeze- The three-step process for collecting a sample, activating the device, and mixing the sample is so easy, anyone can do it.
  • 100% Recyclable- All Hygiena ATP Test devices are 100% recyclable.

How does it work?

The Hygiena UltraSnap ATP Surface Test works by measuring adenosine triphosphate, more commonly known as ATP, which is the energy molecule found in all living cells. All forms of organic matter contain ATP, as does microbial contamination on a surface contains ATP; however, it is typically in smaller amounts.

Therefore, after the proper cleaning procedure takes place, the levels of ATP should be reduced significantly.

Once a sample is collected and ATP is put into contact with the unique liquid stable Luciferarse/Luciferin reagent in the UltraSnap test device, light is emitted in direct proportion to the amount of ATP present in the sample.
The luminometer measures the light that is generated, and reports results in Relative Light Units (RLU).

The RLU result provides the necessary information on the level of contamination within seconds. The higher the RLU figure, the more ATP present and therefore the dirtier the surface, which would indicate that the cleaning process needs to be carried out again.

Luminometers and UltraSnap

UltraSnap™ is a user-friendly ATP surface test designed for use with Hygiena luminometers. In addition, we at Sychem offer two of the best ATP Hygiene Monitoring systems on the market, the SystemSURE Plus the ‘world’s best selling ATP sanitation monitoring system’ and the EnSURE Touch, a ‘next-generation touch screen quality monitoring system’.

The Hygiena UltraSnap ATP Surface Test is a crucial component to Hygiena’s cleaning verification solutions. It works together with either of Hygiena’s ATP Monitoring systems to provide superior repeatability, linearity, sensitivity and accuracy over other ATP systems.

Hygiena UltraSnap ATP Surface Test is designed to detect invisible/trace amounts of residue. Overloading the swab with physical matter by swabbing a visibly dirty surface will inhibit the bioluminescent reaction, and will therefore produce inaccurate results.

Hygiena’s UltraSnap devices are made of 100% recyclable plastic and may be discarded accordingly.

UltraSnap storage and Shelf life

Hygiena UltraSnap ATP Surface Test swabs must be stored out of direct sunlight at a temperature between 2 – 8 °C (36 – 46 °F). The Test devices will tolerate temperature abuse for 4 weeks at room temperature (< 25 °C)

Devices have a 15-month shelf life, so refer to the expiration date on the label before use.
